Sanoma Magazines International (SMI) is among the top European media publishing houses. The company is part of  Sanoma. Sanoma Magazines International is responsible for Sanoma' Media activities in Central, East and South East Europe. It has leading market positions in Bulgaria, Hungary, Romania and Russia.

The company's objective is to be or to become the number one media publisher in its chosen markets. Within this objective, SMI seeks expansion into other European countries and optimization of opportunities and revenue through synergy and the development of media concepts.

SMI publishes over 140 consumer magazines mainly targeted at women. At the same time it runs internet sites, three newspapers and is active in online, mobile, TV, fairs and events. In 2010 SMI had a net revenue of € 214.9 million.

SMI supports its local management in determining the direction in major issues like strategy, launches, acquisitions and HR policy. It acts as knowledge centre and sounding board, facilitates editorial guidance and support. SMI HQ monitors quality, targets, potential synergies and cost savings.
